Call for applications for Research Positions
National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (Nalsar University of Law), Hyderabad is seeking applications to fill two Research Positions for BPR&D-funded research project on Open Air Prisons. The project covers study of prisons in 6 states of India.
Task
- Research position 1: Project Coordinator cum Senior Researcher is to conduct research that analyses the functioning and impact of Open Air Prisons in 6 states across India.
- Research position 2: Junior Researcher to assist Project Coordinator and Project Director and take up tasks assigned on the research theme.
- Both the positions require extensive desk research as well as travel for field visits and interviewing the prisoners, prison personnel and analysing all the relevant data and report writing.
Requirements
- For the Research Position One: Master Degree in Law from any reputed University.
- Minimum two years of teaching or research experience.
- Candidates with working knowledge in Hindi, Malayalam/ Tamil will be preferred.
- Strong writing and editing skills, especially in analysing huge data and assessing the policy impact from multiple perspectives.
- For Position Two: Master Degree in Social Sciences with or without research experience.
- Strong writing and editing skills, especially in analysing huge data and assessing the policy impact from multiple perspectives.
- Working knowledge in Hindi and/or Malayalam will be preferred.
- Both the positions required knowledge of and interest in public policy and governance and their impact on lives of people in conflict with law.
Start date: Starting from May 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022 (15 months)
Remuneration: The positions one and two will paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 30,000 pm respectively.
