About

I hold a bachelor’s degree in law from the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, and graduated in 2018 with the Gold Medal for International Law Honors. I then pursued my LL.M. at the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, where I became the Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Gold Medal recipient for being the overall batch topper for the academic year 2018-19. During my Master’s program, I worked as a Teaching Assistant under Professor Amita Dhanda for the Law and Poverty course. I feel that this particular Teaching Assistantship for the said course has had a significant impact on my life in determining the kind of lawyering-teaching-activism that I intend to be doing in the years to come.

After finishing my Masters, I joined NALSAR as a Research Associate at the Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) and the Centre for Legal Philosophy and Justice Education. Apart from being engaged with the Centres’ activities, I co-taught courses and designed simulation exercises for the Legal Ethics Clinic. In July 2020, at the end of this one-year stint as a Research Associate, I got offered a position for Assistant Professor here at the academy where I now teach courses such as Legal Methods, Law and Poverty, and Legal Ethics in the undergraduate program.

My research interests lie in Public International Law, Law and Society, Jurisprudence, and Queer Theory. My works often involve interdisciplinary studies carrying elements of media, popular culture, and the law.
